Stores Operative – Manufacturing
Hourly rate: £14.75
Location: Andover
Hours: Monday – Thursday: 06:00 – 14:15 & Friday: 06:00 – 14:00
We are seeking an organised, detail-focused Stores Operative to join the twilight team at a high-tech electronics manufacturing facility. You'll play a vital role in managing materials, supporting internal departments, and ensuring accurate inventory flow within a dynamic production environment.
This role is ideal for individuals with experience in warehousing, stores, or logistics in manufacturing – particularly electronics – or those with transferable skills and a keen eye for process accuracy.
Stores Operative Responsibilities:
* Manage stock using the internal MRP/ERP system, including booking in, locating, and issuing materials
* Pick, pack, and deliver stock to internal departments as per requisitions
* Perform kitting for box build and assembly lines (basic and complex kits)
* Support stock accuracy through system transactions and physical checks
* Relocate, count, and track materials using tools such as x-ray counters and vacuum packing
* Assist with annual stock checks and ongoing cycle counts
Stores Operative Requirements:
* Computer literate with strong Microsoft Office skills
* Good attention to detail and commitment to stock accuracy
* Comfortable in a fast-paced, structured production environment
* Ability to follow procedures and maintain clean record-keeping
Desirable
* Previous experience in manufacturing or electronics stores
* Understanding of FIFO, kitting, stock control, and inventory systems
* Familiarity with MRP/ERP systems (e.g. SAP, SYSPRO, etc.)
